Day 1: Colombo

Day 2: Colombo to Negombo
Travel to Negombo (approx 40 minutes) where it is renowned for its picturesque beaches and a vibrant fishing industry. Its colonial past is reflected in its architecture, notably the imposing Dutch Fort. The town's bustling fish market is a sensory delight, offering a glimpse into local life.With its blend of history, culture, and natural beauty, Negombo is a charming coastal destination worth exploring.

Day 3: Negombo to Sigiriya
Travel to Sigiriya (approx 3 hours) which is the cultural heart of Sri Lanka.
On the way stop at Dambulla Cave Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Sri Lanka, which showcases ancient Buddhist art and architecture within five caves adorned with elaborate statues and colorful frescoes.
In the evening, enjoy the incredible opportunity to enjoy an elephant safari. Bring your best camera as you see elephants enjoying freedom and get up close to them.

Day 4: Sigiriya
Sigiriya, also known as the Lion Rock, is an ancient rock fortress located in the cultural heart of Sri Lanka. Sigiriya is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and offers a fascinating glimpse into Sri Lanka's rich history and architectural marvels. The climb to the top involves ascending steep staircases and passing through impressive rock formations adorned with ancient frescoes, showcasing the artistic skills of the past.
After visiting Sigiriya, take a trip to Polonnaruwa or Anuradhapura.
Polonnaruwa, an ancient city in Sri Lanka, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site famed for its well-preserved ruins dating back to the 12th century. Explore impressive structures like the Royal Palace and Gal Vihara, featuring colossal Buddha statues, offering a glimpse into the island's rich history and cultural heritage.
Anuradhapura, one of Sri Lanka's ancient capitals, boasts a wealth of archaeological treasures, including towering stupas, monastic ruins, and sacred Bodhi trees. Day 5: Sigiriya to Kandy
If you would like an additional hike, enjoy a sunrise hike of Piduarngala as it offers an incredible view of Sigiriya.
Travel to Kandy (approx 2 and a half hours) and stop at the spice plantation on the way. Sri Lankan spice plantations offer experiences in lush landscapes where you can learn about cultivation of a diverse array of spices, including cinnamon, cardamom, and cloves.
In the evening, enjoy a Sri Lankan cooking experience.

Day 6: Kandy
Kandy, a picturesque city nestled amidst Sri Lanka's lush hills, is renowned for its cultural heritage and natural beauty. The city's charm extends to its tranquil lake, lush botanical gardens, and traditional arts and crafts.

Day 7: Kandy to Nuwaraeliya
Travel to Nuwaraeliya (approx 2 and a half hours) and see beautiful, scenic views on the drive.
There is an option to visit Ambuluwawa Tower on route.
Visit a tea plantation which offers a captivation journey into the heart of the island's landscapes and rich tea culture. Nestled amidst rolling hills, these estates produce some of the world's finest teas, including Ceylon tea.

Day 8: Nuwaraeliya to Ella
In the morning, enjoy a guided tour of Nuwaraeliya, "Little England". Nuwaraeliya is a charming hill station famed for its cool climate, lush tea estates, and colonial architecture. It is surrounded by picturesque mountains and waterfalls.
After your Nuwaraeliya, catch the famous train ride to Ella. This ride offers a scenic journey through breathtaking landscapes of misty mountains, lush tea plantations, and cascading waterfalls. Renowned for its iconic Nine Arch Bridge and stunning viewpoints, it provides a memorable and picturesque experience, capturing the essence of Sri Lanka's natural beauty.

Day 9: Ella
Ella, nestled in Sri Lanka's central highlands, is a tranquil yet vibrant destination renowned for its stunning natural beauty and outdoor adventures. It is surrounded by lush tea plantations and misty mountains and offers breathtaking vistas.
Activities today include a hike up Ella Rock where you can see views of lush valleys and distant mountains. Accessible via a scenic hike through verdant landscapes, it's a popular destination for adventurers seeking stunning vistas and a rewarding outdoor experience.
Nine Arches Bridge is an iconic railway viaduct renowned for its architectural beauty and scenic setting amidst lush tea plantations. Constructed during the British colonial era, it stands as a marvel of engineering and is a popular tourist attraction for its stunning vistas and historical significance.
Little Adam's Peak offers a rewarding hike with stunning panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. The relatively easy trek through tea plantations and forested paths makes it a popular choice for travelers seeking breathtaking scenery and a memorable outdoor experience.
Day 10: Ella to Yala
Leave behind the vibrant town of Ella and travel to immerse yourself in Sri Lankan wildlife (approx 1 and a half hours).
Yala National Park, located in southeastern Sri Lanka, is the country's most famous wildlife sanctuary. Renowned for its diverse ecosystems and abundant wildlife, including leopards, elephants, and crocodiles, it offers thrilling safari experiences. The park's varied landscapes, from dense forests to arid plains and coastal lagoons, provide habitats for a rich array of flora and fauna.
Day 11: Yala to Mirissa
Opt for an additional early morning safari in Yala before you set off to the relaxing beach of Mirissa.
Mirissa, a coastal town in southern Sri Lanka, is renowned for its pristine beaches, vibrant nightlife, and whale watching opportunities. Its palm-fringed shores offer a relaxed ambiance, perfect for sunbathing and surfing.
Optional activities include; whale watching, snorkelling, sighting of turtles and a visit to Galle.
Day 12 + 13: Mirissa
Spend the last few days enjoying the beautiful beach of Mirissa. Additional activities can be arranged at your request or you can spend the time relaxing and enjoying local food.
Day 14: Mirissa to airport
Leave Mirissa as you will be transported back to the airport to conclude your round trip of Sri Lanka.
